Maulana Syed Shahabuddin Salfi Firdausi is a renowned Islamic Scholar, Preacher, Peace Activist and inclined towards the society welfare works. He was born in Babu Saleempur village of Darbhanga district in Bihar on 01 March 1956 in a highly religious family. His ancestors include Shaikh Tajuddin Madari Darbhangwi who is one of the elderly Sofiya Karam of Bihar. Akhtar Orenvi has mentioned about him in his book ‘Bihar Mein Urdu Zaban-O-Adab ka Irteqa’. He completed his initial studies at Madrasa Taj-ul-Uloom, Babu Saleempur and Madrasa Noor-ul-Islam, Khairi Banka, Madhubani, Bihar.  He then got admitted to Darul Uloom Ahmadiyya Salafia, Darbhanga, Bihar in 1971 for higher studies under the patronage of maternal grandfather Haji Muhammad Sharif Sb. and completed the Fazil course in 8 years.
  
In 1978 after completing the education he worked as teacher at Madrasa Islahiya, Pathar ki Masjid, Patna, then moved to Kasba Bara Khurd (Known as Kamsarobar), Gazipur, UP and spent two years working in the educational field. Along with Hafiz Muhammad Maruf Siddiqui (Imam Dargah Masjid, Malad(W), Mumbai) Maulana came to city of dreams Mumbai in 1981 and stayed 23 days in Dargah Masjid, Malad(W). With kind advice of Qari Najm-ul-Hasan Faizi (Founder and President of Madrasa Rehmania, Kandevali, Mumbai) he went to Solapur on Friday 7th May 1981 and was welcomed there warmly. Had lunch with Abdul Aleem Khan S/o Haji Abdul Majeed Khan (Clan of Khan Bahadur Haji Hazrat Khan) at Khan Banglow, Solapur. and then Maulana came to Rehmania Masjid, Ganesh Peth, Solapur. and started his preaching and stayed there from 1981 to 1984. He also authored a small booklet named ‘Meri Namaz’ in 1981.
  
He got married to Imrana Begum (D/o Qari Zaheer-ul-Hasan Sahab) on 21 November 1983 at Hafiz Qari Noman Rehmani (Brother in law) and Mr. Salahuddin alias Master Sahab's (Older brother) behest.
  
He went to London in 1988 and stayed there for almost one and half month and on his return founded one mosque (Masjid-us-Salam, Ambedkar Nagar, Solapur) in 1988. which was the first step towards Service to humanity and then there was no working break. He helped in constructing many Mosques in and around Solapur.

Maulana hosted Saiyid Hamid's (Ex-Vice Chancellor of Aligarh Muslim University) initiative "All India Taalimi Karwan" at Solapur to promote educational awareness among Indian Muslims in 1992.

In the year 2002 under the guidance of Maulana Shahabuddin Salfi Firdausi, Makkah Masjid, Solapur (One of the central and oldest mosque) was demolished and rebuilding of new mosque having capacity of 6000 people started. Maulana presided the foundation ceremony of the new mosque which was held on 18 August 2002 at Siddheswar Peth, Solapur. Many prominent Ulema-e-Karam (Clerics) and personalities around India blessed the foundation ceremony. few among them such as, Hazrat Maulana Gulam Muhammad Wastanavi Sb. (Jamia Akkal Kunwa, Maharashtra), Hazrat Maulana Abdul Karim Parekh Sb. (Muffassir-e-Quran), Hazrat Maulana Abu Zafar Hassan Nadwi Sb.(Bhiwandi, Mumbai), Hazrat Maulana Junaid Ahmed Banarasi Sb. (Mumbai), Ali M Shamsi Sb. (Mumbai), Farooque Sayyed Sb. (Gulbootey, Mumbai) and many others.

The role of  Maulana was very laudable during the riots happened in 2002, it was a wisdom exercised by Maulana which saved lives of Muslims in Sahara Nagar and Asra Nagar Area of Solapur. Mr. Asghar Ali Engineer has mentioned it in one of his articles as well.

Maulana was very keen for the educational upliftment of the Muslim society and gave every piece of support to educational institutes working towards the upliftment of the society. Maulana was the chief guest on the occasion of foundation ceremony of the Sholapur Social Association's Arts and Commerce College, Solapur along with Mr. Sushil Kumar Shinde (then Chief Minister of Maharashtra State).
  
Maulana Firdausi has always been keen on doing things which would help the whole humanity and not just a community. on the same ground he started the dream project of making a Blood Bank. He selected the most suitable persons from the Solapur city and made a public trust as "Athar Minorities Social and Welfare Association". After 6 years of hard work put up by Maulana, The Athar Blood Bank, Solapur was completed and on Sunday 2nd June 2012 inaugurated by Mr. Sushil Kumar Shinde (then Minister of Power (India)). Service to Humanity was the slogan chosen by Maulana as a motto for Athar Blood Bank. Construction of new Maternity Home is on cards of the Athar Minorities Social and Welfare Association in near future. Athar Blood Bank is running successfully and helping the humanity and getting appreciations from all around.

Maulana was asked to preside over the "Paigaam-E-Taalim Conference" organised by Anjuman-e-Bashindagan-e-Bihar Welfare Association on Sunday March 31, 2013 at Jhula Maidan, Mumbai. Member of Parliament Maulana Mohammad Asrar-ul-Haq Qasmi and Mohammed Arif (Naseem) Khan (then State Minister for Minorities Affairs (Maharashtra)) were also present.

To present the life of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ in the light of his Character, Teaching and Virtues proven by the citation of Kitab wa Sunnah he authored the book Seerat-e-Badr-Ud-Duja in 2015.

Maulana has widely traveled across the globe more than a million miles, and earned the respect from every corner of the global society.

He is currently settled in Pune, Maharashtra and father of 4 children who are all married and settled in their personal and professional lives.
